He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Zoo is Aotearoa's largest home of animals, with over 1,400 individuals across 135 species. We host birthday parties that not only provide a safe and fun party environment, but also allow children to experience our animals and inspire them to take positive action for wildlife and the environment.

As a party host, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of children's birthday parties at Auckland Zoo. This includes setting up and packing down the party venue, hosting the parties and general administrative tasks.

You will work closely with other Zoo employees as well as suppliers such as the catering team and entertainment providers.

He kōrero mōu: About you

Previous experience working with children is preferred, and you will be mature, friendly and outgoing. Your customer service skills will be second to none and you will be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.

Most importantly, you will have a strong commitment to exceeding visitor expectations, and of course, have an infectious sense of fun!

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

This is a casual role, working as and when required. You will be required to work weekends and public holidays, as Auckland Zoo is only closed on Christmas Day.

If you enjoy interacting with children and the public in a stimulating environment, passing on helpful and interesting information, and ensuring children have a memorable party, we would love to hear from you!

Applications close Sunday 28th July at 11.59pm

Auckland Council is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and we are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
