Systems Administrator

We're after a Linux geek who is proficient with web servers and web standards to help support our client requests, across the Squiz tech stack - CMS, Search and Innovation, CRM, Marketing Automation, Cloud. You'll be joining our awesome Customer Response Unit (CRU) team here in Wellington.

Dealing with fluctuating traffic requirements and security issues etc You'll be mainly troubleshooting customer issues in a predominantly Linux environment, solving complex problems using your Linux, front-end, analytical and creative thinking skills.

Other core responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting issues arising on enterprise infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting large complex CMS / DXP implementations
  • Fielding incoming client support requests providing exceptional customer service
  • Verifying stability, interoperability, and security of system architecture
  • Analyzing, install, modify and support operating systems, databases and software.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • A minimum of 3 years’ Linux/UNIX administration experience
  • Experience with web applications and how they work (e.g. Nginx, Redis, Memcached, PostgreSQL) in a Linux web application support role
  • Good knowledge of HTML/CSS, Javascript and bash scripting
  • Experience supporting an enterprise level CMS
  • Familiar with DNS, virtualisation concepts and version control: SVN or Git
  • Operating Systems: Redhat, CentOS, Debian or Scientific Linux
  • Web Servers: Apache or Nginx
  • Strong web hosting environment experience
  • Experience with Puppet or Ansible configuration management, PostgreSQL or MySQL database experience
