Territory Manager. Auckland and Northland

We have a rare opening in our Auckland field sales team and are on the hunt for one lucky coffee maniac/salesperson to join us in our mission to be the most excellent coffee roasting business in New Zealand!

We are already the largest (which helps), and the greenest (the Earth gives us beans, so we need to look after it!). We have a brand new roastery – the most advanced in NZ – including state of the art training facilities and our epic new offices, right by the harbour in picturesque East Auckland. We want to share our new home and our incredible fresh coffee with the whole world! Well, with the rest of New Zealand at least…

Who are we?

We are Robert Harris, we are Orb Coffee, and we are Bruno Rossi. Collectively we are Suntory Coffee – part of the global Suntory Beverage & Food family which in New Zealand includes our cousin companies Beam Suntory (as in Jim Beam) and Frucor Suntory (think V Energy and Pepsi). Our global connections provide us with a world of exciting opportunities and access to some of the most innovative thinkers and cutting-edge resources. At a local level, our market presence is incredibly strong; it’s here that we roast our much-loved blends of coffee, work hard to engage with our customers and consumers, and drive innovation to position New Zealand as the most progressive coffee country globally.

And the role?

Reporting to the National Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing the Suntory Coffee business in your territory, while working as a part of the wider team to achieve annual sales and profit budgets and secure new business. This means hunting for opportunities across the café and hospitality channels and supporting our Key Account customers with barista training and coffee education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing new business and onboarding new accounts within the Auckland and Northland regions
  • Working with existing key customers to grow their coffee sales
  • Ensuring that all sales targets set by the management are achieved
  • Preparing & presenting territory business updates/reviews/reports for internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the training requirements of corporate customers
  • Developing and completing efficient call cycles
  • Ensuring superior levels of customer service at all customer interface points – including management, finance, supply, delivery etc.
  • Meeting with customers to address concerns and provide solutions
  • Promoting a safe and healthy workplace

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A passion for coffee!
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management abilities
  • Keen to work as part of a team when appropriate, and comfortable working autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office (word, excel etc)
  • A creative and strategic mindset to grow future business
  • Experience in the coffee industry, either roasting or as a barista, an advantage

To help you succeed, you will be joining a team of passionate coffee lovers and sales people. We view learning and development as a life-long ambition, so will endeavour to partner you with subject-experts throughout the business where appropriate.
