If you have prior experience within Microbiology and are looking to utilise it within an innovative and dynamic environment, then Synlait has the position for you! We are seeking two Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) to join our Microbiology team based in our beautiful Dunsandel office.

Reporting into the Microbiology Supervisor, the ideal candidate is someone who understands and can conduct day-to-day routing testing. Someone who can achieve turn-around-time and meet business needs and demands. Your ability to motivate yourself whilst carrying out routine and repetitive tasks will be crucial to your success in this role. Your ability to work in a team environment and be a team player is a must have!

Our Microbiology lab operates 7 days a week and this position is based on a fixed-day roster, those being 4 days on and 3 days off (3-day weekend) with a minimum of 10 hours per day. The rosters are either Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday.

 To be successful in this role:

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Microbiology (or equivalent) is essential
  • Experience in an IANZ accredited laboratory, working under ISO 17025 is essential
  • Self-driven and the ability to work under own direction while simultaneously following procedures accurately
  • Must demonstrate high standard of quality work
  • Ability to interpret analytical tests and reference methods
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and always meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player
