Comvita was founded in 1974 by two New Zealand beekeepers, Claude Stratford and Alan Bougen.

Today, more than 40 years on, we are world leaders in Mānuka honey. Comvita’s renowned Mānuka honey is independently certified by the UMF™ Honey Association to ensure the quality, purity and authenticity of every drop.

At Comvita we are passionate and courageous people who believe deeply in what we do and why we are doing it.  We are a hardworking, diverse network who genuinely care for each other and the wellbeing of our customers. Kiwi Bee is one of the largest beekeeping operations in New Zealand, with a dynamic and diverse team based across the North Island.

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Senior Business Partner to join our People and Culture Team. In this varied and exciting role, you will work with Kiwi Bee, our wholly owned apiary business and our beekeeping team across the North Island.

Working closely with the General Manager Apiaries, and reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you will deliver on our People and Culture strategic initiatives and Kiwi Bee’s business goals.

In this role you will provide HR generalist support to Kiwi Bee and with a focus on coaching and building the leadership capability within the business. In this role you will:

  • Recruit, develop and support our apiary team
  • Build leadership capability and support technical skill development
  • Support organisational design and strategic workforce planning
  • Ensure effective compensation and performance management processes
  • Build positive and cooperative relationships across the team
  • Manage any ER matters that may arise

To be successful you will have proven experience as a seasoned HR Advisor in a business partnership role. Experience with seasonal staff on work visas and working with Immigration NZ is beneficial. Ideally, you will hold a bachelor's degree majoring in HR or related discipline, and you will be proficient in NZ Employment legislation.

You will also be able to demonstrate you are:

  •  Motivated and capable of operating independently
  • A skilled communicator with a proven track record developing effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Able to manage a varied workload in a high-pressure environment

The ability to travel on a regular basis to our apiaries geographically spread across the North Island is required, in return you get to spend time outdoors in some of the most beautiful parts of our country. People love working in Kiwi Bee for the positive team culture, the variety of work and the perk of getting outdoors with our bees and our passionate team of beekeepers. All this within an iconic NZ health and well-being organisation, committed to taking our unique products to the world.
