On Site Building Manager -Auckland

A fantastic opportunity as Compass Housing Services On Site Building Manager undertaking the management of a new high rise development (73 units) commencing operating in August 2019

Compass Housing Services is dedicated to supporting our tenants to achieve sustainable housing outcomes. This position will be responsible to ensure the apartment complex Compass manages is maintained to a high standard and secure on a day to day basis.

Responsibilities & Tasks Include:

  • General Maintenance
  • Ensure security of the complex
  • Managing after hours tenant enquiries and emergency calls
  • Observing local council liquor and regulations;
  • Enter tenancy notes into our database and reports
  • Be available to attend tenancy meeting as directed by GM New Zealand Operations.

To be successful in this position you will possess the following skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar job or a strong trade background
  • Well organised and proactive
  • Workplace Health & Safety awareness
  • Current NZ Drivers licence
  • Excellent people and communication skills,
  • Ability to set clear boundaries.
  • Proven ability to self-manage and highly accountable.
  • Evidence of dealing with situations involving child safety, domestic violence, addiction, mental health, probation and homelessness.
  • Previous experience of working with Maori, Pacific Island and new immigrants with a clear commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Competent and proven crisis and risk management skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, team, and external agencies.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand

Full details of the salary package and hours of work will be discussed at the interview. Please note this role does require being on call and some weekend work.
