Project Coordinator

Meridian Energy – Who are we?

Tēnā koe , welcome, we're excited about the prospect of working with you as together we create a better energy future for our customers, our people and our communities.  We generate electricity from renewable resources and retail electricity to more than 270,000 customer connections including homes, farms and businesses across New Zealand.

What you will do

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Project Coordinator who will be based around the Southern Lakes area to assist with organising and executing Meridian’s most exciting event yet…Manapōuri Hydro Station’s 50th celebration!

This 12-month, fixed term role is a pivotal and exciting position that sits within our Hydro Asset Maintenance team, reporting through to the Community Engagement Manager. This role will involve liaising with key stakeholders internally and externally, so you’ll have strong relationship management skills and be able to build rapport and foster relationships within wider Meridian teams. You’ll also have a strong track record in coordinating and executing projects/events and be a supreme multitasker as no two days will be the same!

Along with partnering with key stakeholders, you’ll coordinate material that supports the Manapōuri 50th activities (such as advertisements, brochures, flyers/invites, presentations), attend key events and provide on the ground support and work with the local community to ensure they are on board with the 50th celebration. You’ll have strong attention to detail, a can-do attitude and thrive on taking on making the most of this unique opportunity!

The role will initially be part time, 15-20 p/w, with the view that closer to the big event (in around 6 months’ time) this will ramp up to full time hours. Whilst being able to work remotely from home, you will also be required to be on site regularly in the Manapōuri area, so flexibility is key!

What do you get in return?

In addition to an attractive salary package, Meridian offers benefits that are about making life better and easier, for you and your family. You get a great working environment, opportunities for professional development, and a dynamic organisation to work for. You also get the flexibility of initial part time hours with the ability to work remotely with regular site visits.

The Meridian team are a group of driven and passionate people who are focused on doing good for people and good for the environment!
