Inpatient Receptionist - Mercy Hospital

Permanent Part-Time | Monday to Saturday shifts | Free parking | Xmas & New Year shutdown

We're looking for an Inpatient Receptionist to join the wonderful team on our inpatient orthopaedic ward at Mercy Hospital in Epsom. Total hours on offer are 15 per week. You will work 2-3 afternoon shifts Monday to Friday, plus alternate Saturdays 6.30am - 12.00pm.

The Inpatient Receptionist is the first point of contact for all visitors and inquiries to the ward. Your key responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Charge Nurse Manager and the wider clinical team, and ensuring that patients, visitors and specialists receive a superior level of customer service.

This role offers tons of variety, and some of the tasks that you'll own include: general reception duties, assisting with patient bookings for other health services, collating and updating patient charts, assisting with patient admissions transfers and discharges, and ensuring the smooth running of the ward's administration.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a front-line customer service/reception role (preferably in healthcare)
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively and positively within a large team environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and computer skills
  • A friendly and confident telephone manner
  • Great attention to detail
  • Superb organisation and time management skills.
