Assistant Circulation Librarian

Fixed-term to December 2019, part-time (0.6)

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide high quality, client-centred, library services to WelTec, Whitireia and external stakeholder students, staff and visitors primarily through all customer facing aspects of the library service.

This position will also provide professional, client-centred student support triage, referral and support services that consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Key accountabilities include the following:

  • Sole responsibility for the day to day operations of the library/ learning commons services and spaces in the hospitality Campus
  • Assist staff and students to access all student support services by providing a triage and referral service
  • Ensure all customer enquiries (face-to-face, email and telephone) are responded to in a timely manner and with the appropriate level of assistance
  • Provide level one IT support services to students

Location

The primary location for this role is at the Hospitality campus in the CBD, however the successful applicant may need to travel to campuses as required to develop and maintain relationships.

Qualifications and experience

A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable, along with recent work within the tertiary sector.

Essential personal attributes are a high level of personal initiative and motivation, ability to relate to a broad range of people, and highly developed customer services skills.
