Communications Advisor

  • 12 month contract

This is an opportunity to join a programme leading cutting edge New Zealand science and innovation. It has a large network of researchers, Māori and industry collaborators to develop future technological solutions to some of New Zealand’s biggest and most complex environmental, health and information/data problems.
 
Working closely with the communications and marketing manager, your role will focus on:
  • Writing (e.g. stories about research innovators and their work).
  • Managing social media channels and website updates, including posting content and establishing a new online communities.
  • Assisting with evaluation and reporting on communications channels.
  • Working with a suppliers to develop communications and marketing collateral including video and print.
 
In addition, there will be opportunities to be involved in a range of communication, event and engagement activities.
 
You will need to be a creative writer with experience in developing stories, together with expertise with digital channels. An understanding of marketing or experience working in the public sector would be an advantage.
 
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, starting by late July. There is flexibility to work full or part-time hours.
