About OCHO

Produce delicious, hand-crafted chocolate with beans sourced from the Pacific and made right here in New Zealand’s best little city, Dunedin.

The present version of OCHO (the Otago Chocolate Company) was formed in 2017 when locals responded to the closure of the Cadbury factory and with 3500 small investors raised the money to buy the original OCHO (which was founded in 2013 by Liz Rowe) and form a new company capable of making craft chocolate on a large commercial scale.

Currently, OCHO is still a small operation but with the new manufacturing facility, there is great scope to grow.  The board is seeking a dynamic General Manager to take this business on a journey delivering further growth and success.  

 
About the role

As General Manager of OCHO you will provide leadership and coordination across the business, supporting managers and staff within the company.

With 3 main departments and a clear objective to grow, a strong component of the role initially will be focused on growing and developing their Operation, Sales & Marketing, and Tours & Events.  

With 3 direct reports across these main departments, you will be responsible for bringing the energy, driving the team and implementing a clear vision that will result in continued profitable trade and business growth both regionally, nationally and eventually internationally.

The General Manager will also be expected to produce management accounts (P&L and Balance sheets) as well as growth strategies and present these on a regular basis to the board.

To be successful in this role you will be commercially focused, be resilient, able to negotiate and craft strong meaningful relationships with suppliers and clients
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and an inspirational leader, ideally from a fast-paced FMCG background.

They will be able to offer invaluable knowledge of the market and bringing crucial business development initiatives to the table.
