Trust Consultant

Te Tumu Paeroa is an independent organisation supporting Māori land owners to protect and enhance their land – for now and generations to come. We work with land owners, trustees and the Māori Land Court. We look out for what’s best for the people, the land and the future.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual to join us as part of the Trust Liaison team where you will be working as an interface between owners, trustees and Te Tumu Paeroa. This is a six-month fixed term contract, covering parental leave.

In this position you will work within a portfolio delivering key services across a number of trusts and owners to assist the Māori Trustee in meeting specific duties. There is a need for limited travel in this position, and some flexibility in hours may be required.

We would love to hear from you if you have an understanding of Māori Land administration, particularly relating to administration of entities and ownership interests. However, if you have similar experience this may be the opportunity you are looking for.

The skills and experience you will bring to this position include:

  • Experience working in a busy and varied client focused role that requires a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to build and foster relationships
  • A strong customer focus
  • The ability to interpret technical legal documents
  • High level of confidence working within a Māori environment
  • A good sense of humour, a self-starter who can work unsupervised, and able to work well as part of a team.

If this role sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you.

Please send your resume and covering letter to recruitment@tetumupaeroa.co.nz

Applications close 5pm Thursday 8th August.
