Organisation Profile
Our client is a not for profit recreational sports organisation with a very large membership base of many thousands of New Zealanders . They promote participation at all levels, education and sustainability of the sport and the environment in New Zealand.


Role Profile
This is an opportunity for a transformational leader to move this organization from ‘volunteer based’ to ‘professionally lead’, providing sound directional guidance, and with the development and deployment of strong value propositions for its membership.
Based at their suburban Auckland HQ location, the key  responsibilities of this role are to:-
•    Lead and grow the organisation and in conjunction with the Board and Executive Team develop and deploy strategy and vision for the organisation; 
•    Execute organisational development and funding plans; 
•    provide overall day to day management of the organisation, and optimally balance the requirements of all stakeholders – employees, members, investors, and communities, while ensuring all legal obligations are met.


Person Profile
The person we seek will be strongly values driven with an engaging, inclusive, and motivational personal style. 
You will also demonstrate outstanding rapport building and communication ability at all levels and across a diverse spectrum.
This role requires the application of the highest standards of professionalism so you must demonstrate proven success in strategic planning, process design, financial management, financial reporting and operational efficiency.
You must also demonstrate top level analytical thinking ability and quickly understand the business model and drivers.
Success in this role will require you to connect with the operational front end of the business, rolling your sleeves up to assist when required and leading by example.
Ideally you will also have proven success in funding an organization through grant funders and philanthropists.


Qualifications and Experience Required
•    A relevant tertiary qualification such as MBA, BCom or Sales and Marketing degree is preferred but not essential.
•    Several year’s proven  success in leading and managing a medium to large NZ commercial, sports administration  or not for profit organisation is essential
•    Experience in operational management within a large community based, local or central government agency could be an advantage.
•    Strong Excel and general computer literacy is essential.

 

To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country.
