Future Student Advisor

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting others to achieve their ambitions. In this role you will have the ability to make a positive difference to people's lives through the advice and guidance you provide. As well as supporting individuals to reach their potential, you will play a critical role in building the brand of the University of Waikato in an increasingly competitive market place.

This position will contribute to the student recruitment function of the University of Waikato to ensure that the University recruits high quality undergraduate and graduate students. You will play a key role in profiling the University as a first choice education destination for students. We are looking for someone to provide advice and guidance to prospective students and their families about programme selection and degree planning matching prospective students' desires with the University's offerings.

This role is based in Hamilton, however you will be required to visit schools and colleges within the Waikato as well as on occasion travelling to other New Zealand regions. You will have excellent presentation skills and have a strong understanding of the University admissions process at all entry levels. Additionally, you should be able to contribute new ideas for recruitment and be enthusiastic about preparing students for their future. The ability to speak te reo Māori or a Pacific language would be an advantage.

You will have the skills be able to build strong relationships with school teachers and careers advisers and other key stakeholders.

Candidates should hold a tertiary qualification and knowledge of the New Zealand secondary school system is essential as are excellent communication and presentation skills, flexibility and initiative.

This position involves extensive travel and some evening and weekend work. A full driver's licence is essential.

Salary will be in the range of $58,725 to $70,678 per year, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
