We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Underwriter to join our Wellington based Underwriting team, who have the important task of ensuring the sustainable growth of our Mutual.

Reporting to the Underwriting Team Leader, this role will be responsible for providing top notch underwriting risk management, technical advice (analysing both individual and portfolio risks) and guidance to our Sales teams.

This role will also work on business wide initiatives and business projects to improve efficiencies and FMG’s offering to its clients.

About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about rural NZ and feels excited about the opportunity to work for a Mutual and is driven to help shape FMG’s future!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated underwriting experience of at least 2 years;  
  • Business acumen, along with strong analytical skills;
  • Experience in both influencing, building and managing meaningful and strong relationships with internal customers and,
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills, along with a pragmatic approach to your work!
