The Opportunity
Due to year on year growth within this leading plastics manufacturer, the necessity to add a Process Engineer to the team has now become essential. Based in Ashburton and reporting to the Production Manager, there will be plenty of challenge and scope to really make your mark on the plant and add value.
  
  
The role
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Process Engineer with solid core skills around continuous improvement, performance of plastics raw materials, products and processing. The purpose of the role is to develop new and existing processes to improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity and decrease costs. Other responsibilities will include:
  
  • Training of production staff to improve skill base
  • On-going improvement of quality of product
  • Contributing to design and commissioning of new/modified equipment
  • Preparing new product trials
  • Reporting and analysis of data
  • Assessing risks to hazards and H & S/environmental impacts.
    
About You
Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering, you will have experience in a similar role, ideally in the plastics industry although this is not absolutely essential. You will have a clear mechanical bent, be highly analytical and prefer to be hands-on. Good communication skills will be essential in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
