We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to help provide a solid platform for our application teams to build on.  You will execute and inform the architectural and infrastructure vision to help scale EP to the next level.


The Work

  • Build, deploy and maintain a variety of workloads, running on AWS.

  • Design, implement and support infrastructure automation by using standard tooling and processes.

  • Supporting an application delivery pipeline through effective CI/CD.

  • Design of cloud infrastructure using industry best-practices.

  • Load & stress testing to uncover bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

  • Leverage monitoring tools to ensure availability of environments and systems.

  • Empower application teams working in an agile approach.


You'll Need

  • A strong Linux server administration background, but comfortable in Windows too.  Knowledge about best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.

  • Experience with running and orchestrating containerised workloads.

  • Experience working with distributed systems, geographical redundancy and the inherent challenges of data at scale.

  • Working familiarity with a variety of RDBMS, NoSQL and block storage.

  • A sound knowledge of networking and core internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs and distributed networks).

  • Security and scaling experience.  Know-how to work identity management/authorisation such as AWS IAM and policies and work to help teams deliver OWASP-aligned applications.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, with a close attention to detail.

  • Great teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Ideal Tooling Experience

  • AWS: EC2, ECS, S3, ElasticBeanstalk, Redis, RDS Aurora, Redshift, Dynamo, VPC etc.

  • Data: SQL Server, Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, MongoDB and Redshift.

  • CI/CD using Azure DevOps

  • Exposure to FaaS such as Lambda/Cloud Functions.

  • Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK or other IaC framework.

  • Elasticsearch, Kibana, New Relic, Sentry

  • C#, .NET SDK & Core, Python 

  • / JMeter

  • Git
