Commercial Analyst

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Finance team as a Commercial Analyst reporting into our Commercial Director. This role will play an integral part in driving additional insights and deliver strategic initiatives to the wider business.

  • We have over 320 talented people across 5 major markets (US, CA, UK, NZ, AU) working to delight approximately 25,000 awesome retailers worldwide

What will you be doing in a typical week?

  • Analysis and insights: Analyse financial and non-financial trends to draw insights, and recommend initiatives to drive business performance
  • Strategy development and execution: Run complex, critical, strategic projects in close partnership with cross-functional teams end to end. Drive problem/project scoping, rationale/business case development and insight generation
  • Relationship building: Develop strong working relationships with key decision makers and functional groups across Vend to gain a deep understanding of the business
  • Presenting: Present strategies and insights to Executive level management 
  • Market & competitive intelligence: Develop strong subject matter expertise and share with leadership teams the strategic implications for Vend’s global business

Ideally you'll have experience in the following...

  • Commercial: Good understanding of company-level P&L, customer unit economics, and growth drivers. You’ll be great at execution, results driven, and detail oriented
  • Analytical: Comfortable working with complex data sets and problems
  • Insight driven: Ability to bring new ideas and thinking by identifying the ‘so what’ from complex analysis. 
  • Leadership: Strong team player with the ability to lead and influence across the wider business
  • Communication: Strong presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas with authority and making the case for change. You will be a self-starter & independent work style.
  • Problem solving: Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and able to clearly define a problem and a practical process for solving.
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Industry: Minimum two years experience at a leading management consulting firm, investment bank, or other top-tier institution or similar organisation 
  • Stakeholder management: Experience actively engaging senior management, presenting, driving conversations, and problem solving
  • Analysis: Experience working with data and clearly articulating insights
