Maintenance Department Manager - Wellington

Who are we looking for?

Due to Fulton Hogan’s ongoing growth within the Region, we are looking for a Maintenance Department Manager to join our team and deliver the good work Fulton Hogan is known for.

The job

You’ll be responsible for wide range of responsibilities including;

  • Managing the delivery of road maintenance contracts
  • Leading day to day operations and monitoring team progress.
  • Ensuring the effective delivery of work within the Contracts.
  • Managing the department’s budgets and P&Ls.
  • Financial planning  implementation and reporting
  • Managing internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Managing and developing staff.

You’ll use your good people skills to build genuine and lasting relationships with our customers, and our people (we’re one big whanau). And you’ll have the skills and experience to help us achieve our strategic objectives.

You’ll also

  • Understand and embrace our living safely approach.
  • Take personal responsibility for the safety of your workmates, the environment, public and yourself.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with the relevant job and work instructions.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Help your team do their job.

Experience and attributes;

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to Roading Management and Maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively manage client and stakeholder relationships and meet expectations.
  • Excellent project/contract management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in a frontline position.
  • Good understanding of job pricing and tendering.
  • An unwavering commitment towards living safely with a safety record to match.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
