We're hiring a Front End Engineer to join a remote-first agile team based in New Zealand.  

What you'll do

  • Tackle novel engineering challenges that align with our vision of inspiring futures!

  • Model problems, then design, write, test and release code to solve them.

  • Ship products with a cross-functional team of designers, software engineers, testers and product managers.

  • Work on a platform that is actively used by learners from all over the world.

You'll need

  • 5+ years of experience building single-page-applications for the web.

  • Experience using component-based frameworks from the JavaScript ecosystem (Vue, React, Angular, etc).

  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript, HTML & CSS.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of cross-browser limitations and workarounds.

  • A passion for technology and an interest in continued learning.

  • The ability to translate complex problems into tangible, understandable units, and then creating actionable solutions.

  • Experience working with large code bases in an agile team environment.

  • An interest in mentoring other developers and interns.

Ideal Experience

  • Experience in TypeScript, Vue/Vuex and LESS is a bonus.

  • Experience with mobile development, iOS or Android would be beneficial.

  • Experience with build automation tools.

  • Experience with project management tools: JIRA, Confluence.

  • Understanding of basic UX principles and what makes a great user experience.

  • Any experience in developing for SaaS/Cloud applications.
