Commercial Finance Manager

A rare opportunity within one of New Zealand's largest NZ owned companies, a high profile and diverse role in a forward-thinking and highly commercial Finance team.  Excellent blend of technical finance and commercial acumen with strong elements of business partnering and planning and optimisation.
 
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working as part of a supportive, progressive and future focused Finance team you will be responsible for delivering financial support, working with external advisers to develop the Group Funding strategy and optimising activity to drive positive business outcomes.  This role is perfect for a self-starter who is focused on delivering results and enjoys partnering with the wider business, an integral role in the business.
 
DUTIES
  • Working closely with the planning and strategy teams to identify opportunities to drive business outcomes
  • An integral role in the company, establishing credibility as a trusted partner to ensure risks are identified, understood and mitigated
  • Partnering with the wider business
  • Creating a culture of improvement with the team to ensure ongoing improvement in risk profile, customer service and process efficiency
  • Strategic leadership and management of Treasury activities and capital structure
  • Optimisation of Group debt and deposit management
  • Working with different business units to improve cash utilisation
  • Identifying treasury and capital structure risks and opportunities early to drive positive business outcomes
  • Building and maintaining solid relationships with service providers
 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to work both strategically and tactically
  • Ideally big 4 trained with experience in mid to large companies
  • Solid understanding of treasury controls, financial risk management and practical experience of finance systems
  • Excellent relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and both verbal and written communication
  • Excellent financial management and modelling
  • Customer focused and a self-starter
