Clinical Records Clerk- Opthalmology- Admin

The Ophthalmology Department is a large yet close knit unit and includes the eye clinic, eye ward, day stay unit, and theatres. It’s a friendly, fast-paced environment where our passion for what we do is evident in the volume of patients we treat and the fun we have while treating them.

The Clinical Records Clerk position is primarily responsible for responding to phone calls, faxes and email requests for retrieval and dispatch of patient notes from within and outside the department. You will also do filing of charts and correspondence/documents, preparing patient charts for clinics and making up new charts as needed. The expectation is that you will ensure that patient charts are tracked appropriately at all times using ADHB’s tracking system and that the next day’s charts are delivered to the clinic reception at the end of each working day.

This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week Monday – Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm with 30 minutes lunch break.

This position is primarily based at the Ophthalmology Clinic in Greenlane Hospital. Whilst working closely with the Ophthalmology team, you would be integral to the smooth running of the department. Your attention to detail, ability to work under pressure with accuracy will be essential. Previous clerical experience, especially in a hospital environment, and knowledge of medical terminology are an advantage. You will need to be reliable, dependable and physically fit (as some heavy lifting is required).
