We are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineer to take charge and lead Synlait to the next level in process and equipment performance. 

About the role

The reliability engineering function strives towards the achievement of maximum operational output, in quality, rate and stability.  

The role will require you to work alongside operational and non-operational business functions setting equipment standards and work practices that will underpin equipment and process reliability performance.   Some key areas of focus:

  • Loss Elimination - Track asset performance and work with various functions to reduce production losses
  • Reliability Best Practice - Implement, maintain and continuously improve systems, processes and equipment strategies to deliver optimal asset performance
  • Leadership - Be a change agent and a coach, work with employees to obtain a reliability focused mind-set
  • Risk Management - Determine and manage asset risk to achievement of strategic objectives in areas of health and safety, asset capability, quality and production.
  • Asset Life Cycle Management - Be involve in design, installation and commissioning of new assets to maximise Life Cycle Costs
  • Steer the business in performance - Run a check and adjust cycle to ensure that the Asset Management Strategies employed under their direction are at their optimum level.

As well as having an introspective approach, the Reliability Engineer will be encouraged to review technologies and approaches that could be implemented into Synlait's Asset Management standards and practices.

Although the role is not a people managing role, the Reliability Engineer will aid the Area Maintenance Managers meeting performance targets.

This role will bring

  • Ability to use your reliability / engineering skills to further Synlait's bottom-line
  • Financial exposure
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Working with a broad stakeholder base
  • You will be highly visible ant be able to make your mark

Qualifications   

  • Tertiary Qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent is beneficial.

Experience  

  • Experience working with reliability methodologies such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Modes & Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA) is preferable.
  • Previous work experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a highly automated environment would be beneficial.

This is a full-time position with hours of work being Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.
