Chemist (Fixed Term Contract)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Chemist to join our Technical Services team based in Avondale.  This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

The Role:

As part of the technical team, you will be providing technical assistance to internal and external customers on existing paint products and will also be involved in the launch of new and improved products. You will provide timely, appropriate assistance and advice through investigation of customer complaints and product issues, and liaise with the technical team to propose effective corrective actions.

You will also prepare technical documentation and support our Sales & Marketing team in producing high quality colour collateral and/or presentation materials.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must be task-oriented, proactive and practical. You will have a positive attitude and enjoy interacting with people. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and work well both in a team environment and autonomously to achieve results.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • A degree in Chemistry (or relevant science discipline)
  • A passion for working in a 'hands on' laboratory environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Strong time management skills

Previous experience working in colour matching in surface coatings or a related industry (familiarity with computer colour matching methods) or experience in a research and development lab in the coatings industry will be highly regarded (however is not essential).  

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.  Full normal colour vision is required to successful perform this role.
