COLOUR MATCHING & QUALITY CONTROL - Plastics - Training Role (CAREER ROLE)

Based in Mt Wellington, my client is an internationally recognized company that makes a range of colour additives (master batch) for the Plastics industry.

They are currently seeking to train up an enthusiastic junior to be their QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN. You will also train across their COLOUR MATCHING function. This will be a hands-on role where you ensure production quality remains high during their manufacturing process. You will learn how to colour match to create the ‘formula’  for manufacturing process. You will do this both by using your own colour judgement as well as using machinery in the lab.  You will also run a range of standardised tests on samples of finished products, to ensure they are correct and that they comply with the correct specifications. You will be doing about 30 testing processes a day, so good time management is vital.

It is an interesting and hands-on role, that has several processes to achieve for each sample analysis. It can be quite an interactive role, as it will involve liaising across the different departments of this business. You won’t be sitting in one place all day, but moving around the factory.

This is a ‘training on the job’ role, so should be recognised as an amazing opportunity to carve out a specialised career in the manufacturing industry.

Qualities we are seeking:

  • Excellent colour vision and an eye for detail
  • Desire to learn
  • Is capable of producing high quality work
  • Uses initiative and can work unsupervised
  • Good time management and can work to deadlines
  • Strong and confident communication skills w
  • Confident computer skills,
  • Good maths skills
  • Physically fit
  • A  proactive and positive manner

This is a very important role and requires someone who has a keen eye for colour, who enjoys analytical work, and is quite process driven. You will need to be computer savvy, strong attention to detail, enjoy working with a small team and keen to do the best job possible.

This role also could be perfect for a hard-working junior, who is keen on learning a trade and can demonstrate an excellent attitude and great work ethic.

Because this company is keen to train this person, they prefer someone who is starting out in their career. Preference will go to those who have at least 1-3 years stable work experience with good references.

This is a rare opportunity to learn a trade in a very supportive team.

Please apply to Lisa Via Seek or on lisa@kingsrecruitment.co.nz

Please not that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and this will happen within 10 days of your application.
