Part-Time Accounts Assistant

WineWorks provides fully integrated services to the wine industry which encompass bottling, lab services and packaging supply, distribution & storage services. We are currently looking for a part time Accounts Assistant to work with our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The successful candidate will have the role of carrying out financial duties for the parent company and the wider Groups of Wineworks. This part time role is based on 60 – 80 hours per month, dependant on the business needs.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a person with a good understanding of basic accounting procedures to join our Hawke’s Bay office and gain invaluable experience within a reputable organisation.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Periodic payment runs
  • Assisting with Debt Collection
  • Capitalisation and reconciliation of Fixed assets and record maintenance
  • Depreciation
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Sense checking of P&L and Balance Sheets
  • GL journals when required
  • GST returns
  • Support to the Finance Team when required

Successful applicants will have the following attributes and skills

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an assistant accounting position
  • Excellent time management skills and able to work flexible hours
  • Previous experience using financial software packages
  • An eye for details and to have a high level of accuracy
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook
  • Previous experience in Exonet is an advantage
  • Able to work independently at home and in the office
  • Positive outlook, high level of initiative and excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and good computer skills
