The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities and Services Assistant to join our busy, friendly and supportive team the Faculty of Engineering.

Reporting to the Facilities Services Team Leader, this fulltime position will provide reception and administrative support to staff, students and visitors at our Newmarket Campus.

 

About the Role

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing a helpful and welcoming reception service to all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Ensuring all spaces and facilities at the campus are fit for purpose, raising issues as necessary and ensuring stocks and resources (coffee, paper etc) are ordered in a timely manner and are transferred to their point of need
  • Ensure key databases are continually updated and accurate
  • Assisting staff and students to adhere to university procedures
  • Assist Facilities Co-ordinator to arrange IT, equipment and building access for staff and students
  • Responsibility for assisting with fleet vehicle bookings and fuel cards as required

 

Skills and Experience                    

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be tertiary qualified or have proven relevant experience
  • Have outstanding customer focus, demonstrated through reliable and efficient service to stakeholders
  • Have a good standard of computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office suites
  • Be able to work independently, using initiative to solve problems requiring judgement and interpretation of established information  
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
