This company proudly manage and distribute the revered stable of products for the largest Australian-owned brewery, along with a hand picked portfolio that includes a selection of the world’s best beer and cider brands.  As a genuine family-owned and operated business, they remain committed to the little things, the personal touches that mean you get the service and range to satisfy you and your customers’ needs.  The current Area Manager is leaving after 10 years, leaving this excellent opportunity open for the next person to take over the region,  Auckland and North Island - South to Taupo.  
  
About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Director based in Melbourne, this is an autonomous role that will work closely with the other two Area Managers based in Wellington and Christchurch and will include:
  • Ownership of key grocery and some off premise accounts to maximise the full sales potential within each account
  • Grow the on premise business by researching, prospecting and expanding your client portfolio
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with customers, suppliers, internal team members and other stakeholders to contribute towards the achievement of business goals
  • Optimising network opportunities by presenting at sales and marketing events such as beer festivals and events
  • Promote and market products through ranging and display and participate in sponsorship, promotions and other opportunities
  • Record competitor activity, customer feedback and  sales trends for analysis
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the team in New Zealand to ensure a strong and supportive culture is maintained
 The Successful Candidate

The ideal person will have a successful record of sales in beer and/or wine on and off premise, combined with strong grocery relationships and:
  • The natural ability to build relationships with a strong self-drive and passion for the industry
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work your territory independently, but also closely with the other New Zealand Area Managers 
  • Proven negotiation, communication and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking, strong business acumen combined with strong analytical and financial skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with strong written communication
