Assistant HR Advisor (fixed term)

About the Organisation

The Authority is a Crown entity, responsible for the safety and security of New Zealand’s civil aviation system. We have two business arms – the regulatory arm (the Civil Aviation Authority), which is responsible for the safety oversight of the New Zealand civil aviation system, and the security arm (the Aviation Security Service), which provides aviation security services at airports across New Zealand.  

About the role

Our Assistant HR Advisor (fixed term) is a key member of our HR Service’s team, responsible for delivering high quality HR support, advice and administration to your specific business group, HR Advisors and HR Business Partner across a broad range of HR activities. This would be a fantastic opportunity for an efficient administration assistant with an interest or background in HR to join our team and take that next step in your HR career. You will work closely with an HR Business Partner as you learn and grow to operate as an enabler and key support to the business and help managers to effectively lead and manage their people. We are constantly striving to improve our practices and deliver effective solutions to the people and business issues faced.

Our team works across all areas of the organisation and is diverse, talented and very enthusiastic. We focus on developing our strengths so we can add real value to aviation security and air safety in New Zealand.

Skills and experience

As the successful candidate, you will be highly motivated, have an eye for detail and be a proactive coordinator in order to support the team effectively, understanding that confidentiality is crucial. You will be comfortable moving from coordination to providing advice (with all the support you need) and able to work in a busy and ambiguous environment where you will be exposed to all areas of our organization. Any previous study or working knowledge of employment legislation or experience in an HR environment would be beneficial but not necessary for this position.

The Organisational Development Group works across all areas of the organisation and is diverse, talented and very enthusiastic. We focus on developing our strengths so we can add real value to aviation security and air safety in New Zealand.

This position is fixed term through until the end of December 2019.
