Dunedin City Holdings Ltd invite applications for a Director role on the Board of Dunedin International Airport Ltd (DIAL).  Directors of DIAL are generally appointed for a three-year term and must be able to guide the organisation, given the nature and scope of its activities and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the company.

DIAL’s principal activity is the operation of Dunedin International Airport. Land adjacent to the airport, held for possible expansion, is dairy farmed in partnership with a sharemilker. A small residential housing estate adjacent to the airport provides rental income. As well as the provision of appropriate landside facilities for the airport, the company has responsibility for the design, provision & maintenance of runways, taxiways, turnouts & aprons.  DIAL’s two equal shareholders are the Crown and Dunedin City Holdings Ltd, which is owned by Dunedin City Council.

Dunedin City Holdings Ltd is seeking to appoint a suitably skilled Director to the Board of DIAL. Candidates will bring to the role proven governance experience and a strong understanding of governance policy and processes.

Ideally candidates will have a background in infrastructure, construction or project management, and possess general business expertise with Aviation and/or Tourism sector knowledge or experience.

To be considered for this role you must be resident in New Zealand, with a preference for Otago based candidates.  The Board meets monthly (11 times a year) and this is a remunerated appointment.
