Manager, Fire Services New Zealand

In Australia, the company operates about 1,000 MW (gross) of renewable (wind turbine) and gas-fired generating plants in South Australia and Western Australia. ENGIE Services employs more than 1,200 staff and offers innovative multi-technical design, installation and maintenance solutions for businesses as well as developing and implementing cost-saving smart energy and environmental efficiency services and solutions for precincts across Australia and New Zealand.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to plan, develop direct and control the operational activities of the NZ Fire Team to achieve business goals and profit targets. With support from functional leaders in the Group, this role will lead the NZ Fire Team and be accountable for achieving financial targets, maintaining and improving customer satisfaction and ensuring all operations are completed efficiently, safely and in accordance with quality standards.

  • Lead the operations of the NZ Fire business to ensure both current and future plans of the business are met
  • Ensure that assigned operational responsibilities and activities obtain maximum field force efficiencies
  • Maintain awareness of economic market conditions, competitor stance, market share and technological directives to establish positioning as a preferred service provider
  • Direct, lead and support the NZ Fire Team ensuring delivery of the business plan and objectives
  • Analysis business reports ensuring targets covering outstanding calls, PM & quoted margins are met
  • Manage team performance to cost, quality, delivery and safety targets
  • Ensure allocated maintenance hours are not exceeded
  • Ensure the utilisation of operational resources for the scheduling of service works is maximised, where efficient levels are maintained to meet the required standards for controlling maintenance and the replacement of all department assets including properties, plant, equipment and fleet.
  • Ensure customer concerns and complaints are proactively addressed and escalated as required.
  • Demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues

The role requirements include:

  • Current market experience, 10-15 years relevant work experience in the Fire Protection Services industry
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Trade certificate and a proven track record of practical and technical competency gained in the Fire or affiliated industry
  • Working knowledge of business management systems such as pronto and a like within the Fire industry would be beneficial
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
