The Graymont Makareao Plant is located approx. 1-hour North of Dunedin and runs an efficient operation producing high quality quicklime products from locally sourced Limestone.

Operations Coordinator, Makareao Plant (Full Time Permanent)

Reporting to the Site Superintendent and based at the Makareao production plant this role is accountable for providing operational support to the Graymont Makareao plant through a variety of adminstrational tasks such as data entry, creating and maintaining database information, weighbridge assistance, confirmation and receipting of relevant documents and effectively communicating with relevant Graymont departments, staff, visitors, suppliers and customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful applicant is expected to take a hands-on approach and will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist site staff with administrative duties.

  • Support and maintain all office filing, plant files and records.

  • Answer phones and respond to inquiries from customers and staff on location, hours of operations, directions and other day to day activities.

  • Run daily updates and generate reports from weighbridge system, JDE, Cognos and Excel.

  • Able to create memos and letters to communicate with staff and customers.

  • Take safety and meeting notes and produce reports, and minutes from meetings.

  • Photocopy, fax and scan documents as required.

  • Interaction with, Staff, Customers, Maintenance and Production personnel daily.

  • Provide assistance according to purchase orders and purchase receipts.

  • Share duties and back-up for other office related duties.

  • Assist with other duties to be determined as office operating priorities change

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a fast paced, multi-tasking office environment.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of deadlines and commitment to schedules.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • High level of expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn other software.

  • Able to work closely with plant personnel as a team contributor and able to work independently.

  • Ability to manage a fair amount of work load with little direction or supervision with frequent interruptions.

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain confidential information as it relates to personnel functions and sensitive business information
