The Opportunity

The Role
Based in Christchurch, this role will be responsible for the investment management of Craigmore Sustainable’s pastoral farming, horticultural and forestry portfolios, currently spread across 4 partnerships.
  • Work with each of the 4 portfolio managers (GMs) to achieve highest financial and sustainability outcomes within the partnerships
  • Communicate effectively with investors and board through formal reports and other avenues of investor relationship management
  • High level Risk and compliance management for partnership and regulatory requirements
  • Assist GMs and approve long-term business plans and portfolio strategy including acquisitions/disposals
  • Take the lead role in developing the strategic and annual business plan – deliver, Monitor and facilitate business and organisational performance in relation to this
  • Portfolio risk management, facilitating the delivery of compliance frameworks both financial and industry driven
  • Ensure business activities operate within requirements of regulations (RMA, Local authorities, OIO, Animal Welfare etc) and market expectations.
  • Facilitate and enable General Managers to be the leaders of their portfolios and support them in driving both change continuous improvement
  • Play and active role in supporting and enabling the Group Financial controller
  
  
Your Profile
  • Experience leading a complex or large-scale business
  • Experience in financial services, especially investment management desirable. An understanding of food and fibre sectors would be complimentary but not essential
  • An experienced CFO or COO with stable and proven track record Demonstrable leadership in managing and influencing key strategic relationships both internally and externally -
  • Able to wear both a COO and CFO ‘hat’ when required
  • A well developed and complimentary mix of both technical and commercial financial and regulatory management skills – demonstrated at executive and board level
  • Ambition to drive results and continuous improvement through a sense of ownership that secures career and business growth as a by-product of Craigmore’s success.
  • Strong leadership coupled with a proven background across either transformation/ change or organisational development
