Asset Management Specialist - Rivers and Drainage

As the Asset Management Specialist you will provide expertise in supporting the asset management function within the Rivers and Drainage activity area. You will have the opportunity to add value as you provide advice, guidance and input on all asset management related issues associated with rivers and drainage infrastructure assets.  

The Role

Based in Whakatāne (otherwise known as the sunshine capital of New Zealand) and reporting to the Assets Manager – Rivers and Drainage, this is a key role which will see you strengthening and improving the asset management practices that support the flood protection activities of Council. The functions of the role include:

  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on asset related data and information as it relates to Council’s river and drainage schemes.
  • Supporting the development, operation and continuous improvement of the Rivers and Drainage Asset Management Plan.
  • Providing specialised expertise in supporting the asset management function within the Rivers and Drainage activity area.
  • Managing projects related to Council’s rivers and drainage flood protection assets – including overseeing procurement and the hiring of contractors/consultants.

 

 

Your skills and experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Proven experience in best practice asset management for infrastructure assets including developing asset management plans and implementing continual improvement actions.
  • Confidence in developing asset management plans and implementing continual improvement actions.  
  • Proficiency in the use of Asset Management Information Systems.
  • Experience with developing resilience pathways for infrastructure assets.
  • Reporting writing skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience.

The salary for the position (at the experienced level) ranges from $79,164 - $93,442 per annum.
