Ranger - Field Operations (Port Hills / Banks Peninsula)

If you're passionate about protecting our natural assets and providing environmental education on the stunning Port Hills and wild Banks Peninsula, then this job is for you!

We're seeking a motivated Field Ranger based with the Councils Regional Parks team to develop and maintain our parks and natural areas. You'll be part of a dedicated and enthusiastic team that delivers quality parks services such as natural asset management, recreation opportunities, environmental education and emergency response, such as rural fire and civil defence.

You'll have a National Certificate in Conservation or broad experience in parks operations or natural landscape maintenance and a keen interest in protecting natural biodiversity values. Your role will see you building positive relationships and working alongside community groups and contractors so your ability to engage and be a committed team player is paramount.

As you'll need to operate our vehicles and use maintenance equipment, you'll have a full driver's licence and have excellent physical fitness with an ability to work alone and safely.

This is a uniformed and rostered position requiring working one day of every weekend alongside other park rangers.

Apply now for the opportunity to work with our motivated team, in some of Christchurch's most scenic parks. Work with diverse native habitats and wildlife and make a real difference to our natural landscapes and for the people who enjoy them.
