The Community Places unit within Auckland Council aim to create dynamic spaces which foster a sense of belonging and are loved by the communities they serve. The Venue Hire team play a key role in this and are responsible for providing 24/7 service to approximately 92,000 customers that use over 150 council run bookable spaces across the region every week.

He kōrero mōu: About you

This position is the first point of contact for customers who want to use these venues and aims to make the booking experience seamless and efficient. The Venue Hire Coordinator will be tasked with providing customers accurate information and advice, which will help them make informed choices that best meet their needs. In this role you will be required to:

  • Manage the online booking and access system
  • Respond to all customer queries within a timely manner
  • Process credit notes, invoices and refunds
  • Contribute to the evaluation and monitoring of community venues
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience

You will be system savvy, competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and can easily adapt to new systems. Ideally you will have worked within a professional environment and easily build excellent working relationships. Your proactive nature along with your great attention to detail and exceptional verbal and written communication skills will make you perfect for this role. The ideal candidate will bring with them a positive 'can do' attitude and be a team player.
