About the Role

Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader the Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical IT and Infrastructure Support for Perpetual Guardian as well as a number of other subsidiaries within the Complectus Group. There is a strong emphasis on a client centric approach combined with a technical nous to provide high quality IT support to the business.

We are on a digital transformation journey so you will need to be a fast learner who is able to utilise their specialist knowledge to solve challenging problems. Where an obvious solution does not present itself, you will be eager to expand your technical knowledge and skills to tackle problems with tenacity. This is a busy role where the ability to multi-task is going to be paramount. You will juggle managing IT support for the business and working as part of a project team to roll out new or upgrades to our technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incident and problem resolution within appropriate time-frames across all aspects of technology infrastructure
  • System administration activities including troubleshooting of issues within the Citrix environment
  • Assist with the maintenance of the organisation’s systems in regards to security and reliability, utilising a best practice approach with appropriate risk management and contingency planning
  • Maintain standards, processes (ITIL or similar), documents, monitoring and policies in relation to enterprise infrastructure, applications and security to ensure reliable and secure infrastructure and services that meet the organisation’s performance requirements
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of commercially sound server, network and desktop technologies that will support the operation of the business and meet the organisation’s performance requirements
  • Proactively identify new technologies that can reduce costs and / or improve service.

Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in an IT infrastructure environment (5 years minimum)
  • Tertiary  qualification in IT or other relevant subjects
  • Proven experience supporting and administering Microsoft products
  • Understanding of Citrix systems
  • Understanding of Networks, switches and Routers
  • Understanding of VMWare environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and apply best practice IT knowledge and solutions
  • Excellent problem solver with a focus on the end-user and business requirements
  • Excellent relationship / stakeholder management skills
  • Timeliness and ability to deliver results through support given and projects undertaken
