Accounts Assistant

About the company:

Our client is a well-known motor vehicle dealer with over 100 years of NZ market presence, they are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Financial Controller and the wider accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an Accounting graduate with accounts administration experience

About the role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following:

  • Daily bank statements, Eftpos reconciliation and allocation
  • Process daily banking and online payments
  • Updating cash flow spreadsheet
  • Issuing customer statements and providing invoices
  • Assist with physical stock take
  • Back up for the Accounts Payable and the Credit Controller whist they are on leave
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks to support the team

About you:

  • Experience in Accounts administration, Payable or Receivable
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to process transactions without making an error
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE or Xero
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work well and build relationships with people
  • Effectively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders
  • An accounting qualification is preferable
