We are looking for an honest and reliable team player to join our Campus Security team.

Our Campus Security team are a tight knit and committed team of men and women who pride themselves on having a professional presence around the campus and the neighbouring community.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Security Team Leader and based at the Otara Campus, you will be providing internal and external security services across Manukau Institute of Technology, including satellite sites, to reduce risk to staff, students and visitors and aid the prevention of property loss. There will be some exposure to control room environment which will involve CCTV monitoring and Access control.

What are we looking for?

You will have a high standard of personal presentation and strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with people from a diverse range of cultures. The ability to remain calm in emergencies, think on your feet, make sound decisions independently and be flexible and adaptive to change, are essential qualities for this role.

Previous experience in a similar role is not essential however, a NZ National Certificate in Security to minimum level 2 and a current Certificate of Approval (Security License), would be advantageous. You must hold and maintain a current, valid, full NZ Driver's License. Excellent verbal and written English language skills are essential as is a good level of fitness with the ability to do mobile and foot patrols. A current First Aid certificate is desirable.

Hours and Shifts

This is a full-time role working on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday. With morning and afternoon shifts.

You must be able to work weekends (12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday once a month) and may be required to work additional hours and public holidays.
