Visiting Teacher

About the role

Visiting Teachers lead a network of home-based Educators, supporting the Educators to ensure excellent early learning outcomes for the tamariki in their care.

We are looking for an experienced, qualified and certificated ECE teacher to join our home-based early learning team on a permanent basis (Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week).

Key responsibilities

  • Providing professional leadership to a network of Home Based Educators
  • Coaching, mentoring, training and inducting new Educators, to ensure the provision of high quality early learning to tamariki
  • Promoting Barnardos early learning services to families and whānau, and assisting with promotional activities and business development to grow the network

Skills and experience

  • You will have an ECE teaching qualification and a full Teaching Council practising certificate
  • You will have experience in coaching and mentoring adults
  • You will be a motivated and experienced ECE teacher, with a sound understanding of early learning pedagogy
  • You will have a good knowledge of licensing criteria and other relevant legislation
  • You will have the commitment and drive to deliver excellence and make a difference for tamariki
  • You will have first-rate communication and organisational skills,
  • You will have a current first aid certificate and a clean, unrestricted NZ driver's licence
