Do you enjoy equipping challenging youth with key foundational skills and understand how to embed numeracy and literacy within a curriculum?
We are seeking the services of a full-time tutor to deliver a Level 1 Employment Skills programme. The free 19-week course is for youth aged 16 to 19 and provides the skills needed to transition into a Level 2 or above courses as well as offering the opportunity to gain some credits towards NCEA Level 1.
The course includes classroom time and offers the opportunity for students to achieve their learner driver licence as well as a range of employment skills such as: CV Writing, Interview Skills and Personal Budgeting. Aspects of numeracy and literacy are embedded throughout the course allowing students the opportunity to gain credits towards NCEA Level 1 as well as the National Certificate in Employment Skills.
We are looking for:
• a passionate and committed tutor
• a proven track record delivering formal training programmes to youth
• Qualified with:
o Unit Standard 4098 (Assessor Training)
o The National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education
• an understanding of the Youth Guarantee Training Scheme would be beneficial
• experience in collecting naturally occurring evidence for the 266xx Literacy and Numeracy unit standards series, and determining if the required standards are met
