Regional Account Manager

Are you ready for a no two days are the same role? One that gives you access to some of New Zealand's biggest names in business and allows you to be out and about, connecting with your customers face-to-face on a daily basis? If your answer is yes, then this is the job for you.

We have 430,000 customers from the Coromandel Peninsula to Taranaki and through to Wellington. Not only are we New Zealand's largest electricity and second-largest gas company, we're also one of only two dual-energy distributors in the country. The utilities industry is undergoing a significant strategic change and were proud to say that Powerco is at the forefront of this change. We have always worked closely with our retailers and we're focusing on working more closely with our customers too. We're dedicated to getting to know them and understanding what they want. We're allowing them to lead us in the direction they want us to go to ensure that the changes we make are the right ones. With that in mind, we're looking for someone driven, dedicated and outgoing to step into our Regional Account Manager role in New Plymouth.

You'll be working with a well-established portfolio of clients, from South Taranaki, Central and South Waikato. You're a pro at building and maintaining strong relationships you'll be doing plenty of it, making sure that your customers are happy and well taken care of at all times. You will be passionate about establishing trusted relationships, seeking to understand our customers needs for Powerco to continue to best meet them. You've got a proactive approach in identifying and developing new opportunities with our existing customers and new customers as well. We'll give you your own company vehicle so you can be on the road on a regular basis working alongside your customers.

You're likely to have some account management experience, but what matters more to us is that you're a keen learner and really want to get in front of clients (whether it is on the farm, in the factory, or the meeting room). It doesn't matter if you don't know absolutely everything about the lines industry and the businesses you'll be looking after, your confidence and willingness to get stuck in will cover that. You'll also be comfortable seeking to support the business across core operations, and stepping in for our other Regional Account Managers if need be.

You're probably aware that we're a big company but the best thing is we don't act like it. This means you get the best of both worlds - your career fast-tracked in an organisation that is willing to put their time and money into your continuous development, but also a company that's loyal and has a huge amount of respect for their people and isn't shy to show it.

Are you ready to step into an industry that's on the cusp of great change and keep our customers happy doing what you do best?
