Street Activities Officer

Do you pride yourself on your ability to take ownership of a process and build really good relationships?

Are you passionate about Wellington City?

We are looking for a motivated and energetic Street Activities Officer to join our Transport team.

Our team

The Transport and infrastructure business unit has the key role of keeping the city up and moving.

We are a multi-disciplined planning, operational, engineering and asset management group, which provides a stewardship role for all transport assets including the procurement of services related to the planning, management, operation, maintenance, refurbishment and development of assets and facilities.

We are a diverse group of people who are passionate about the work we do for this city and the people who live, work and play in Wellington City.

Your role

As a Street Activities Officer in the Customer, Compliance and Business Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the use of public space is fairly and equitably evaluated and that our public space is used in a safe and efficient manner.

Day to day this role looks after anything from sandwich board, skip bin permits, election hoardings, scaffolding approvals to giving approval to place tables and chairs on the footpath.

This role also plays a big part in working with the Event Coordinator to ensure road closures and/or related street use is carried out safely. This role requires exceptional skills in customer service, communication and coordination between stakeholders.

There is real scope in this role for continual process improvements; we want someone with an appetite for following through on good ideas.

If you have these skills and are passionate about our city we would love to hear from you.

Applications close 5pm Monday, 27 May 2019.
