Team Leader - Social Work

Permanent full-time role (40 hours per week) 

About the role

The Team Leader – Social Work provides support, professional supervision and leadership to a team of dedicated professionals,  assistance to the Service Manager in the overall management of the team  as well as supporting the children and families who are referred to a range of social work services in the community. 

Duties

  • Provide support, professional supervision and leadership
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management; practice of the service
  • Assist the Service Manager in the overall management of the team
  • Work with children and families using your wide range of social work skills and strategies.

Skills and experience

  • Experienced as a senior practitioner/team leader in a social service setting
  • A qualified and fully registered Social Worker
  • Experienced working with vulnerable children and their families using a social work case management framework.
  • Familiar with theory and practice around the impact of abuse and trauma
  • Experienced and/or a qualification in supervision
  • A holder of an unrestricted NZ driver’s licence.

Excellent communication skills are key to this role. You’ll also need resilience, flexibility and the ability to build strong professional relationships with the team, families and service providers.

You will be working with a small, passionate team of social workers who are working hard for Kiwi kids
