As a Compliance Officer you'll undertake relevant compliance and enforcement, remedial and monitoring action in relation to non-compliance with relevant legislation e.g. Building Act 2004, Resource Management Act 1991, Local Government Act 2002, Freedom Camping Act 2011, Litter Act 1979 and Christchurch City Council Bylaws.

Your role will be varied and will offer many opportunities to provide advice and information on environmental compliance relating to the relevant legislation. As such, a strong customer focus is required as is the ability to prioritise and manage your workload ensuring a high level of service delivery.

Comprehensive practical application and experience in the compliance sector, an investigative type role or related field applying the relevant legislation is required. You'll possess the ability to interpret and apply a wide range of statutes and regulations applicable to building and environmental activities.

If people describe you as a team player with the ability to be a reliable autonomous worker, a positive, persistent and confident communicator who has proven written and oral communication skills with strong attention to technical detail then this could be the position for you.
