Case Manager - Tongariro

Location: Tongariro Prison

In this role you must maintain a high level of integrity, and be willing to incorporate the Tokorima a Maui kaupapa values of wairua, whanau, manaaki, kaitiaki and rangatira into your daily practice.

Case Managers provide specialist, end to end case management with the people in our care including initial assessment, needs identification, case planning and release preparation.

Similarly as part of your role you will liaise with external agencies, community organisations, Iwi and whanau, to support the rehabilitative and re-integrative needs of paihere (prisoners).

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes;

  • Knowledge of te reo Maori language and tikanga cultural practices is an advantage
  • Culturally responsive when interacting with paihere from all ethnicities, in particular Maori Rehabilitation and reintegration related disciplines and practices
  • Effective relationship management and communication skills
  • The ability to motivate and support paihere to make positive changes
  • Full, clean NZ Drivers Licence

Central to the role will be the ability to exercise sound professional judgement to ensure that paihere needs and services are appropriately identified and aligned.
