Team Lead Visitor Engagement

Role
 
The Department of Conservation (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and advice in the visitor engagement space. The Team Lead Visitor Engagement will be based in the Customer Engagement Unit, DOC’s Marketing & Communications function, with two direct reports. They will work closely with staff and managers within other groups in the Department and internal and external partners, including Tourism New Zealand, MBIE, TIA and other key stakeholders in tourism and recreation.
 
 
Candidate
 
  • Your outstanding relationship management skills and understanding of sustainable tourism will help inform policy, strategy and the development of customer engagement strategies.
  • You will play a critical leadership role in the development of visitor information strategies, and delivery of communications, including visitor safety, to ensure visitors are appropriately informed at all stages of the customer journey.
  • With high level organisational and project management skills, you will effectively prioritise the relationship, advisory and content development aspects of this busy role, as well as contribute and lead project teams as needed.
  • Your outstanding interpersonal skills will see you developing strong relationships across the visitor system and working effectively within the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as you increase benefits for conservation.
