Overall Job Function/Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Edit Assistant/Media Op to join our team. This position is a great opportunity to be exposed to entire production/post production pipeline. You will be responsible for assisting in the production of post jobs (offline, grade, online) the management of hard drives and media for filming and post production pipeline, archiving and backup of media and data related to jobs, as well as assisting IT with tasks. You'll need to be able to handle peaks and troughs in your workload and think proactively. Managing your workload effectively so you're able to be reactive when required.  As with most jobs there will be other tasks that come your way so a flexible and positive attitude will go a long way.

Skills and Experience

Experience in the Film and Television industry would be advantageous

An understanding of VFX and post-production workflows would be advantageous

Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, AVID, and Flame would be advantageous.

Strong administrative and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail

Ability to operate autonomously with a strong sense of personal responsibility

Highly energetic and people orientated

Strong sense of passion for the industry

Ability to change and adapt to rapidly changing post production technologies

Excellent knowledge of OSX. Linux knowledge an advantage


Edit Assistant Responsibilities

Conforming in Resolve and Flame

Prepping editor workspaces in AVID/Premiere.

Ingesting and syncing media.

Assisting with offline requirements (exporting and sourcing media)

Outputs and submasters for online and audio, including EDLs and OMF/AAFs


Media Op Responsibilities

Managing all media that comes in and out the building

Assist all artists in managing their project workflows and media

Liaise with producers on when jobs are starting and completing

Archive jobs and rushes to tape.

Take full responsibility for knowing where all jobs, media and hard drives are located at all times

Be proactive and problem solve to ensure all projects stay on track

Allocating drives for shoots and tracking their location

Coming up with new ideas to improve our pipeline

Ensure masters are stored correctly and clean and dirty masters are created

Convert native digital files into other formats utilising DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Media Encoder for digital delivery


Other Responsibilities

Assist production staff with basic IT tasks

Liaise with IT support to assist with other IT tasks


You need to be able to take instruction and feedback well, whilst having the confidence and initiative to work independently and problem solve if required.
