Maintenance Technician / Kaiaka Maihini

Mō tātou, ā, mō kā uri ā muri ake nei - for us and our children after us.

Kia ora! Want to work for Ngāi Tahu Tourism, one of the largest tourism operators in Aotearoa?

We're on the hunt for a Maintenance Technician - a handy person who takes pride in their craft and doesn't let anything slip by their eagle eyes.

Dart River Adventures operate on the iconic Dart River, offering a diverse adventure from the frontier township of Glenorchy at the head of mighty Lake Wakatipu, into the stunning Dart River Valley and Mt Aspiring National Park. On our Wilderness Jet experience, our manuhiri (visitors) experience a unique combination of breath-taking scenery matched with an exciting jet boat ride.

We take great pride in warmly welcoming manuhiri (visitors) to our experiences. Manaakitanga (hospitality) is one of the core values that drives the way we do business. As hosts, we care for our customers and our team as our own whānau.

This is your chance to be part of a dynamic maintenance environment, giving our boats a bit of TLC and ensuring they meet the highest industry standards. You'll be helping to maintain our jet boats as well as a range of light vehicles and commercial vehicles, building and plant equipment.

We offer not only a unique experience for visitors, but also an awesome place to work.

This is a permanent position based in Glenorchy.

A little bit about you

We're after someone who:

  • has a technical background (mechanic, fitter, welder etc)
  • has an eye for detail
  • keeps cool under pressure
  • is able to work shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
  • is open to learning about Ngāi Tahu culture and stories

In this role, you could find yourself refurbishing a hull, fitting out a new boat, undertaking diagnostics or carrying out routine engine maintenance.

Having a strong fabrication background would be an advantage, but no matter your technical experience, we'll make the most of your skills and help you take them to the next level.

You may also need to travel to our other businesses to carry out maintenance on their fleets, so be sure to have a suitcase ready!

  • Work uniforms
  • Company discounts
  • An awesome place to work!

You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand to apply for this role.
