Functions Staff

Villa Maria is a family owned winery recognised as an icon in the New Zealand wine industry. Listed as ‘Fourth Most Admired Wine Brand in the World’ Villa Maria now exports to over 60 countries. Villa Maria’s head office, operational winery, daytime restaurant and events centre is situated in a beautiful 40 hectare vineyard park, 10 minutes from Auckland airport.

We are looking to expand our functions team and are seeking a number of new staff for part time/variable hours roles for our busy events and functions department.

Reporting to our Functions Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our in-house events – our wide range of customers include weddings, conferences, delegates, degustation dinners, business meetings, and exciting outdoor concerts.

You will be setting up rooms, dressing tables, providing discreet food and beverage service, clearing tables and rooms, and ensuring rooms are re-set for the next function.

Previous functions or banquet experience is required, and a Duty Manager Certificate would be an advantage.

The hours will be varied, based on your availability and the functions that are booked. We are a seven day per week operation, with our functions team starting shifts from 6.00am, and finishing events at 2.00am. Due to our location, the hours of the functions, and the lack of public transport in the area, having your own reliable transport is a must.
